Environmental Justice Australia

Environmental Justice Australia (EJA) is a not-for-profit legal practice that uses the law as a powerful tool for protecting the environment and engaging communities in the battle for a healthier world. The ‘Re-imagining Birrarung’ booklet covers one of EJA’s big successes – a landmark act protecting and preserving the Yarra River. This booklet tells the story of the river and the community of people connected to it, as well as some radical ideas on how to restore it. Anna Carlile’s atmospheric photos give ‘Re-imagining Birrarung’ a strong sense of place, connecting readers with the people working to make the Yarra a swimmable, breathable and liveable river once again.
